DHAKA: Leaders of different political parties, including Jatiya Party, JSD, NDP and NAP, expressed deep shock at the death of former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Sadeque Hossain Khoka.
They also expressed deep condolences to the family members, political colleagues and leaders and workers of the BNP vice chairman and prayed for the salvation of his departed soul.
They said a freedom fighter, visionary political leader Khoka’s death is an irreparable loss to the nation.
“Sadeque Hossain Khoka’s contribution in liberation war would be remembered forever in the country,” Jatyiya Party Chairman GM Quader.
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) president Hasanul Huq Inu in a separate message also expressed condolence at the death of the former DCC mayor.
Paying rich tributes to Khoka, National Awami Party (NAP) chairman Jevel Rahman Gani and secretary general M Golam Mostafa Bhuiyan said nation will respectfully remember his contribution to all democratic movements of the country, to establish an independent Bangladesh and protect the country's sovereignty.
Former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation and BNP vice chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka has passed away in New York.
He breathed his last at 1 pm (Bangladesh time) on Monday (November 4).
