DHAKA: Workers suspended bus services for the second day in various districts of the country protesting implementation of new Road Transport Act-2018.
Bus service has been stopped on Khulna, Meherpur, Narail, Naogaon, Barisal and Madaripur routes since Tuesday morning (November 19), causing untold sufferings for passengers.
Earlier on Monday (November 18), strike was observed on Khulna, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah and Satkhira route.
Bus service was also stopped on Jessore route on November 17.
The ‘transport strike’ started a day after Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader declared the enforcement of the new Road Transport Act 2018 on November 1.
