SUNAMGANJ: A Sunamganj court placed brutally-murdered five-year-old child Tuhin’s father and two uncles on remand in the case filed with Derai Police Station in the district.

Shyam Kanto Sinha, judge of the Senior Judicial Court granted the remand order on Monday (October 21).

Abdul Baser, father of the deceased, was placed on 5-day remand while his two uncles-- Abdul Masabbir, Jamshed Ali--on 3-day remand each, K.M Nazrul Islam, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Derai Police Station told Banglanews.

Further remand is needed for more interrogation, OC also said.

Earlier, three of them underwent 3-day remand.

Tuhin was found dangling from a tree of his house at Kejaura village under Rajanagar union of the upazila on Monday morning (October 14), with dismembered ear, genital and the throat.

According to family sources, 5-year-old Tuhin was seen missing in his bed deep at night, but the door of his room left open. After an exhausted search in the neighborhood, he was found in the morning. Some unknown miscreants killed him at night, leaving behind two knives thrust into his belly.

Two knives were found thrust into the belly of the child bearing names of two local men on the handles.

Father of the deceased said: “I don’t know who took my son away at night and why killed him so mercilessly. I’m just a farmer and don’t have such enmity with anyone.”

Tuhin’s mother-Monira Begum-- filed a case against some unidentified men with Derai Police Station on the night of October 14. Five persons including Tuhin’s father were arrested.

Police believe Tuhin’s family members are involved in the murder.
